I was saddened to hear about the passing of the first U.S. woman astronaut, Sally Ride. She was a great pioneer, leader, hero and overall remarkable woman.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work on a communication project involving Sally Ride at my first PR internship. Learning about Sally and her accomplishments reminded me we can all accomplish great things. Her work in math, science and technology has provided inspiration for many women, young and old, and has helped pave the way in those fields for women across the country.
Sally was a huge inspiration to me and reminds us all to reach for the stars and be great leaders. She will be greatly missed.
