Since Lee National Denim Day’s inception in 1996, Crossroads has helped the program and its partners raise more than $86 million for the fight against breast cancer. Participants can join the Denim Day movement by wearing their favorite jeans and donating $5 or more during the month of October.

2012 has brought a lot of change to Denim Day. Among those changes are:

  • New beneficiary: This year Denim Day donations will help the American Cancer Society support life-saving screenings in communities nationwide; provide hope and care to those traveling away from home for cancer treatment; and invest in groundbreaking cancer research.
  • Survivor Ambassador: The new face of the Denim Day campaign is Debbie Howe. She’s an everyday woman who is currently fighting a courageous battle with breast cancer with the love and support of her family.
  • DenimDay.com: The website got an overhaul this year making the user experience even easier to navigate, capitalize on tools available and recruit others.

WDAF-FOX in Kansas City recently covered the campaign and featured Debbie and her family. Don’t forget to sign up to hold your Denim Day event any day in October this year! You can find additional information at DenimDay.com.
