Employees at Crossroads client Lee Jeans used a little elbow grease to help kick off the 2012 Lee National Denim Day. This year, a portion of donations will be directed to American Cancer Society Hope Lodges, a place where those currently undergoing cancer treatment can stay free of charge. Lee decided to take their partnership with Hope Lodge one step further.

On October 1, a committee of Lee employees, spearheaded by Jennifer Bertrand of HGTV’s Design Star, overhauled the Kansas City Hope Lodge media room and unveiled the new space to guests. Items for the new media room were garnered through employee donations from furniture to DVDs to personalized artwork. It’s now a space where guests can watch a movie, pop some popcorn or even pull out a board game or two. Comfortable and plush are two words that come to mind when describing it.

The new big screen television and comfy leather couch are amazing. But, you want to know the best part of the day? Overhearing conversations with Lee employees and Hope Lodge guests. They exchanged stories of hope, perseverance and sheer determination to beat this disease that affects far too many. These connections and the donation of time were far more impactful than a new media room.

Agency partner Digital Evolution Group put together this video, chronicling the media room makeover. If you haven’t yet signed up for Denim Day there’s still time to register at DenimDay.com.
